Service and Repair

Bob’s Guitars is a factory authorized service center for many brands. We also service and repair many makes and models of guitars, basses, and amps. We not only service what we sell but a variety of other products as well. If we can’t fix it, we will help you facilitate repair with our vendors.

Whether you need a truss rod, saddle, nut, or bridge adjustment, pick ups repaired or replaced, or electronics repairs on amps or mixers, we have experienced staff ready to assist.

There is a $40 diagnostic fee on all electronic repairs for an  assessment of the problem. This fee is applied to the final cost of the repair. It does not apply to electric or acoustic guitars.

If a repair is beyond our expertise or you’ve bought a product elsewhere, and we are not authorized to repair, we can arrange for and ship to the appropriate repair center. Shipping and handling fees will apply.

Lessons

Bob’s Guitars is open six days a week and offers lessons every day. These are private, individualized ½ hour or one hour lessons tailored to the students and their proficiency levels. The experienced instructors are Tom Garman and Matt Rigdon. Lessons are $25 per ½ hour or monthly flat rates. Call the store at 319-277-8863 for more details.

Returns

Our highly knowledgeable sales staff is dedicated to helping you find the right gear, so please be sure to ask any and all questions about the item you are purchasing before you make your purchase so that we can do our best to make sure it is right for you and your needs.  Our telephone number is 319-277-8863.

Bob’s Guitars does accept returns on NEW items as long as arrangements are made within 48 hours of receipt. Returned items MUST be in the original condition and with all of the original packing, including the owner’s manual, unused warranty card, and any other items that were included, in order to qualify for a refund.

Refunds are not available for ‘special ordered’ items (items that we do not have in stock but were ordered per the customer’s request and/or to the customer’s specifications), items that involved a trade at the time of the purchase, used items, items that were sold ‘as-is’, items that were originally put on layaway, or ‘personal’ items such as microphones, harmonicas, etc.  Returned electronics items must be in the sealed original box.

The customer is responsible for all freight charges both ways and any processing fees incurred in the course of the sale. We cannot refund freight charges.

For any return made – at our discretion – AFTER 48 hours, Bob’s Guitars will charge a minimum 15% restocking fee for returned effects pedals and amplifiers and a minimum 15% restocking fee for guitars. The only exceptions are for defective products.

We understand that every return situation is different, so please contact the staff with any issues you have so we can find the best resolution for everyone involved.

We visually inspect every item before it is packed for shipment. If you believe you have received a damaged or defective product, please contact us immediately.

Trade-Ins

We are open to trades of quality merchandise. All trades must be evaluated in person for a final value, and the trade-in amount will be applied against the purchase price of the item(s) being purchased. Please contact us in advance for an approximate estimate of what your trade-in item(s) may be worth. Please note: All trade-in items are subject to immediate sale.

Shipping

Shipping charges for domestic ground delivery are listed with the products, unless otherwise indicated.  We do not ship internationally.
